Since 2015, we have a unique concert in Stony Point. It’s called Stony Music Fest, and has served as a showcase for numerous bands that have emerged in the Hudson Valley – rock, jazz, hip hop, acoustic, funk, pop, country, alternative, 60’s, 70’s 80’s, 90’s, 00’s, tribute bands and much more.
It also allows our community to support a great day of activity for residents and tourists alike. Plus we have food, family friendly activities and vendors!
The Stony Music Fest started out in 2015 with just a bunch of friends jamming some tunes in the park together on a hazy August afternoon. People started showing up with picnic baskets. History of event here.
It’s grown over the years. Several hundred people attend each event. We have a stage provided by Town, a location at Riverfront Park, six bands, a sound engineer, food, and vendor booths. The North Rockland Chamber also got a grant this year from Rockland County Department of Tourism to heavily advertise it, via direct mail, radio ads, as well as numerous banners and posters across North Rockland, NY.
Proceeds from this event go to our Charity of the Year, as well as to the many performing artists for the festivals.
